If there's no backup or the old 'account A' doesn't exist in Exchange anymore then the contacts are probably gone. There's no easy way on an iPhone to move a contact from one group ('account') to another so starting outside of the phone world can make things easier. It'd probably be easiest to just get a program that can access the backups and extract it from there. You may be able to salvage the contacts if you have a backup of the phone before the change was made. The normal view is to see all 'groups' (analogous to accounts) all together. Then something switched to account B and new contacts then got switched to going there. I'd assume at some point account A was set up, and new contacts that were added were added to that. You got rid of accounts A and B, but only put back account B. It sounds like there were two separate Exchange accounts added to the phone and one had set A of contacts in it and one had set B. Only thing I can see is the old SMTP record.Īny idea on what could have happened? However she had her contacts to sync again to exchange and nothing came across and she is now missing a bunch of contacts.ġ. and I re-added her emailed started working again. So I had her remove both exchange accounts from her new iPhone.Ģ user accounts, but both appeared to be pointed to the same exchange mailbox. She said that her email hasn't worked for weeks and the previous IT company had some issues with her old email account. We contracted a new company lately and I had a user call in with an issue on her iPhone. I ran into an issue just this week and I am having some issues figuring this one out.
